The first day of school is a Really Big Deal. Ringing bells, rules galore! And so many new people to meet. This past Monday, my entourage accompanied me to the Ingalls Memorial Library in Rindge, N.H. so that I could help the little ones in the summer reading program prepare for The Big Day.
More than 40 chattering and adorable kiddies and their parents crowded the children’s room to hear me read from my book Learning Is Cool… It’s the First Day of School! and to ask questions. Afterwards, we all trooped out to the lawn for a group photo in front of the historic building, and to eat a few biscuits (well, I did).
My next appearance this summer will be at the annual Fitzwilliam Fair on Saturday 11 August, where I’ll be paw-tographing books and selling my note card sets. Stop by early with your best four-legged friend for a sample of our home-made peanut-butter dog biscuits! Brontë says they’re delicious.
