On The Road Again

SleepyThis traveling terrier has been hard at work chronicling the stories of his favorite road trips – and his expert production team will have them posted in detail here soon. Scroll down for a preview.

Cross-Country Camping Capers
November 2008

A new tent and a new puppy, sudden rainstorms and middle-of-the-night surprises. If you’d like to read about this trip from my Editor’s perspective, check out her blog at AutomotiveTraveler.com. My own write-up here promises a more canine perspective on our camping adventures, with ample input about car travel from my big little sister Brontë.

To Yosemite and Beyond!
May 2008

Bison on the hotel lawn and frozen pipes in the bathroom. Breathtaking scenery all around us and noxious fumes at our feet. I visit the famous Paint Pots and Old Faithful before continuing to Little Bighorn Battlefield, Devil’s Tower, Mount Rushmore, and The Badlands. A fabulous 10-day trip before the summer crowds arrived!

Eyes on the Skies – A Mini-Vacation in Tucson
April 2008

From the Pima Air & Space Museum to the telescopes at Kitt Peak, I explore the history of manned flight and our future among the stars – stopping to rest my weary paws at the historic Hotel Congress, where ghosts still walk and outlaws once hid.

Winter Weekend in Maine
February 2005

Maine is one of this hardy terrier’s favorite short road-trip destinations, and winter my favorite season to go. The coast is wild and empty and beautiful, and there’s still plenty to do for anyone willing to bundle up and explore. See my book recommendation at right for a glimpse into the charm of this most northeasterly state.
